Anyone in the world By Maria Romain You, the bride, have worked so hard planning your dream wedding. In a matter of six months you managed to fulfill your dream of having the most perfect and memorable wedding. After the ceremony you personally greet your guests during the receiving line or by visiting each table during the reception. As you greet each guest, you are sure to thank each one for coming to your wedding. As the bride, you even went a step further to make sure you included a personal wedding favor at each place setting, as your token of appreciation. The celebration begins and you dance the night away. The limousine arrives and your guests waive goodbye as you and the new hubby take off for the night. You arrive at your honeymoon destination and your new life begins as husband and wife. The honeymoon lasts for about two weeks and you dread returning to real life. Your desk is most likely piled up with the work that you left behind before the wedding. You have tons of errands to run, including legally changing your name. Not to mention, you have to send a personal thank you note to your guests for the wonderful wedding gifts. Being an overzealous bride, you immediately start writing out your gift acknowledgements. Growing tired of the idea of handwriting over 100 personal notes, you invite your husband to help. His immediate response is I thought we said thank you during the wedding? What about those little bags of chocolates with the thank you for sharing our special day note attached to them? You realize that your husband has a valid point. Is it really necessary to spend all of this time writing out personal thank you notes when you already thanked your guests the day of the wedding? In consulting with the experts, you will find that personal wedding favors are a wonderful way to show your guests your appreciation for attending the wedding, but they are not a substitute for thanking them for the gifts. The purpose of sending a thank you note after the wedding is to thank all of your friends and family who purchased a gift for you. There are several guests who will not be able to attend your wedding, but they deserve to be acknowledged for sending a gift. So, keep in mind that wedding favors are to benefit those who actually attend your wedding. Thank you notes are for those who attended the wedding as well those who sent gifts. Writing out personal gift acknowledgements is a time-consuming task, but its a special way of telling your friends and family that their gifts were appreciated. Keep in mind that it is best to send a thank you note within 2 weeks of receiving a gift. Under uncontrollable circumstances (such as relocation or a lengthy honeymoon), within a months time is acceptable. Remember, saying thank you is always welcomed and can never be said too much. Anyone in the world By Frank Smoot A major new clinical research study, involving more than 14,000 people and spanning some 16 years, has allowed us to identify what does--and what definitely does not--lead to safe, struggle-free, lasting weight loss. As a result, we now know "The 10 Commandments Of Weight Loss Success." Commandment #1: Get The Facts Before You Act! Be certain that whatever you do is based on real data, not on hype and wild claims. Recent research has revealed a wealth of new insights into what works--and what doesn't. Some prime examples: - An astonishing 96% of weight loss attempts fail. - We gain back a tragic 95% of all the pounds we lose. - Dieting is worse than useless. It's counterproductive. - Relying on will power often leads to weight gain. - Most of the reasons we're overweight have nothing to do with food or diet. - But, not being aware of these simple truths, people turn to food-based approaches like dieting--and fail by the millions. Commandment #2. Set Realistic Weight Loss Goals. Your "target weight" must be based in reality, not fantasy. If you're trying to look like Barbie or Ken (or Pamela Anderson or "Arnold,") you are in Fantasyland--and in danger as well. Make your goal to be healthy...not "perfect." Commandment #3. Beware Diet Industry "Solutions." Failed diets cause tremendous amounts of unnecessary suffering. Yet we still turn to dieting and other heavily-promoted "solutions" because the Diet Industry still pushes them relentlessly. Climbing out from under their avalanche of misinformation is "Weight Loss Job #1." Commandment #4. Understand That Weight Loss Success Is NOT About Food Being overweight is actually not "the problem," but a physical symptom of a non-physical problem. In other words, the excess weight you can see is only a symptom of a problem you can't see. We fail because we can't solve problems by attacking symptoms, but only by dealing with the real, root causes of obesity. Commandment #5. Know Who You Are Losing Weight For Who are you really trying to please or impress by losing weight? The only acceptable person to lose weight for is you. If your goal is to please or impress anyone else, you are already in trouble. Getting to your healthiest weight is one thing in life that really should be "all about you." Commandment #6. Get Your Whole Being Involved "Body-only" or "food-oriented" weight loss approaches are doomed from the start. For lasting weight loss, you must involve your "whole" being -- your body, mind, and spirit. See weight loss success as a 3-legged stool. If even one leg is missing, the stool will collapse--no matter how sturdy the other two legs are. To succeed, you must involve and align all three aspects of yourself toward your weight loss goals. Commandment #7. Be Very Careful What You Put In Your Mouth Diet drugs, pills, and "metabolizers" are, at best short-term fixes. At worst, they can be deadly. Weight loss pills not only breed dependency, but the minute you stop, you "Yo-Yo" back to your original weight--or higher. And just because something is "natural" doesn't mean it's healthy. Nature is full of things that can kill humans and other animals. (Amazon tribes count on it!) Commandment #8. Have A Realistic Time Frame Trying to lose more than 1-2 pounds per week sets you up to get sick, to fail, to be miserable, and probably all of the above. "Losing 10 pounds in 2 days" is very unlikely and very unhealthy. You didn't put on your unwanted pounds in a hurry. Don't try to take them off that way. Commandment #9. You MUST "Tune Up" Your Colon For Long-Term Health Poor colon function is epidemic, dangerous, and is a primary factor in excess weight. Too little exercise, too much protein, fat, sugar, salt, alcohol, nicotine, and not much fiber adds up to lousy colon function--causing discomfort, sluggish digestion, poor nutrient assimilation, heartburn, gas, allergies, even cancer. Fortunately, colon function is easy, inexpensive (and very rewarding) to correct. (For more details about the crucial importance of colon health, please read the article here, or send an e mail to frank@coachfranksmoot.com) Commandment #10. See Effort and Struggle As "Red Flags" Fact: Nearly everyone who stays at their target weight year after year uses a proven "success recipe" that makes success struggle-free and virtually effortless. Only a few researchers are aware of this. And you can be sure you won't hear it from the Diet Industry. Dr. Frank B. Anyone in the world By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Simon_Collaso]Simon Collaso Why should anyone be interested in helping you for free? The government benefits if it gives small business start up loans and that is why it helps.
Statistics show that small businesses number more than the big businesses.
Small businesses employ more than 50 percent of the work force.
Small businesses contribute to more than 50 percent of the nations GDP-Gross Domestic Product.
Small businesses are the principal source of new jobs. Starting a small business or expanding your small business is not easy. Expert guidance and help is given to you for free by SBA. The US Small Business Administration was established in 1953 and has business offices in every state. SBA works with thousands of lending, educational and training institutions nationwide. It does not provide grants but offers counseling. Government small business loans are offered to many entrepreneurs. Look up the web sites of the state economic development agencies to know if it is available in your state. SBA is only a guarantor of loans offered by banks and other private financial institutions. The lending institutions that agree to terms of the SBA provide loans to small businesses through SBA. In case of inability of repayment of loan within the stipulated time; the SBA pays the lender the agreed upon guarantee amount, and the borrower has to pay the SBA the entire amount. Can the SBA help you?
Small business is one that is independently owned and operated and is not dominant in its field of operation. SBA has regulations to determine whether your business qualifies as a small business. You could look up the SBA website or federal government regulations to find out if your small business startup loan or small business loan for expansion qualifies. Your business has qualified then the next question that any lender would ask you, is: Do you have a business plan? Most lenders would require a detailed description of the business you are going to start up or expand. Look up the SBA site http://www.sba.gov/starting_business/index.html for planning options and counseling. The many things that SBA helps you is

Anyone in the world By Urbain Beck If you need to lose some weight, forget about the fad diets because they don't work in the long run. Fad diets may result in rapid weight loss, but the quick fix diets usually do not produce permanent results. Most of the time, the dieters return to their old eating habits and lifestyles and regain the weight. Although people spend a great deal of money on them each year, fad diets are not necessarily balanced or healthy. Some may recommend a certain nutrient or food combination that purports to create rapid weight loss. While the diet may result in rapid weight loss over the short term, the positive effects do not last because the fad dieter has not learned lifestyle habits that address long term weight management. A problem with many rapid weight loss diets is that the weight loss is usually water loss. Many of these diets do not promote exercise. Some diets promote a low calorie intake for quick weight loss. Unfortunately, even if the dieter is starving himself or herself half to death with 1,000 calories or less, he or she is training the body to gain weight if an exercise program is not followed. There may be a quick loss of a few pounds following the low calorie intake diet, but the long term effect is that the dieter will eventually become fatter. This is because the body has become less efficient at burning fat. Due to low calories and minimal activity, the body is trained to store fat. What happens, particularly if you avoid eating any fat whatsoever while starving yourself, is that your body will actually begin to store any fat it can get a hold of as an energy reserve. By forcing yourself to continue starving, your body will eventually begin burning its fat reserves. At this stage, however, you will be feeling lethargic and drained because it is difficult for your body to produce energy from fat. While from a rapid weight loss perspective this idea sounds okay at first, once you are off the diet, you'll probably gain all your weight back and then some because your body is confused into thinking it needs to store fat again instead of burning the fat with exercise. Calories are energy units. They are provided by food and burned by activity. Your caloric intake should be determined by your height, weight, gender and level of activity (including exercise). These factors all have to do with how much energy you require in the form of food. Your food should have nutritional value and not a bunch of "empty calories." A healthy diet will include a wide variety of nutritious and natural foods. The diet should contain vitamins, minerals, proteins, carbohydrates and fats. Obesity is a big problem in the United States and becoming a problem worldwide. There may be health issues associated with your weight that should be discussed with your doctor. Your doctor should approve any diet and exercise regime so that you are not starving yourself, confusing your body's fat storage mechanism, and making yourself ill. A healthy diet plan will focus on long term weight management instead of short term weight loss. Although you might not see the effects of your diet plan immediately, you will see effects over time ... and they will be lasting effects. Urbain C. Anyone in the world By Eric Boehme What can you do if you discover that your boss is a micromanager? Working with a micromanager is generally a losing proposition. You may feel you can learn to live with the tyranny, but there are consequences. First, decide if you want to continue to work for this person. If you can find another job you like with a different manager within the company, your answer should probably be "no." If your answer is "yes" then you must make changes. You must respect your abilities and talent enough to ensure that you are being fully utilized. If you do not respect yourself, you will be miserable. The onus is on you ultimately. If you have decided to continue to work under the microscope and have no other immediate alternatives you must make a promise to yourself. You must commit to "managing up." If you do not know what that means, I have written several posts that will explain what it is and how to do it effectively. You must commit to working through the issues appropriately with your boss. I really emphasize appropriately. Inappropriate behavior on your part will and should get you fired. Rule #1- Stay emotionally neutral in all discussions with your boss. Do not raise your voice. Even if you are ready to scream, keep it inside. An emotional outburst on your part will give a micromanager all he needs to continue controlling everything you do. Rule #2 - Ask if you can be direct with your boss. You should ask permission to be "frank." Why? Many micromanagers are not mature enough to have a direct conversation. So if the conversation goes south, you can always remind your boss that you asked if you could be direct. Rule #3 - Give concrete examples where you "feel" you have been treated inappropriately. This is the hardest part, but the most important. You should prepare for this part of the discussion very diligently. The examples must be recent. They should be the best examples you can think of where the micromanager cannot refute what actually happened. If it is totally fact based the only way a micromanager can deny what you are saying is by manipulating truth. That is another whole issue. Rule #4 - Your goal should be to change one behavior. That's right, just one at a time. That is all your micromanaging boss can probably handle. This will be an incremental process, so get ready for a commitment. An example would be for you to get your micromanager to let you be responsible for one task completely without his approval. Focus on things that you do that you know should be your responsibility completely. Your boss should not have to put a stamp of approval on it. Even sell the idea as removing something off his already unmanageable schedule. Rule # 5 - If you are not getting anywhere with your boss during this process you must decide to escalate this up to the next level. But remember, micromanagers tend to hire micromanagers, so assess your boss's boss. Even if he is a micromanager you still must give that manager the opportunity to address your concerns. This is critical. It is only fair that you treat your managers as you want to be treated. Even if you do not think it is fair or necessary. Trust me on this. Rule # 6 - If the management team does not address this issue, your next step is Human Resources (if you have an HR department). If all goes sour and you have no HR, start dusting off that resume and pounding the pavements. You do not belong there. 16 year veteran in Inforamtion Technology Management. Anyone in the world By Alan King Since its inception in the late 1800s, bass fishing has been an exciting sport that captured the attention of many anglers. In the early part of the 19th century, sport anglers in the United states mostly confined themselves to trout and salmon fishing with fly rods. Bass fishing was mostly done for sustenance at that time, using poles and live bait. Because of this, bass fishing in the United States evolved almost entirely without influence from Europes sport fishing tradition. The working class history of bass fishing shows in the traditional baitcasting reel that is the most popular among bass anglers. These reels store line on a revolving spool, reeling it back up via a handle, usually mounted on the right hand side of the reel. Bait casting reels allow for more delicate placement of bait and lures, but traditionally require more finesse to use because of the danger of overspinning the reel and tangling the line. These reels are also capable of using a heavier line than spinning reels. While the mention of bass fishing may give you visions of cartons of squirming night crawlers, most bass anglers now use artificial bait. Common artificial baits include buzzbaits (an artificial bait with propeller type blades that churn the water on retrieval), spinner baits (baits similar in shape to an open safety pin with a hook) and plastic or rubber representations of live bait. In the latter case, particular colors may work best on any given day. These artificial baits have the advantage of not needing to be kept alive, or purchased just before a fishing trip. Artificial baits also come in a wide variety of colors to make them more appealing to fish and more difficult to lose. Beginning bass anglers are recommended to start out in small ponds. These smaller fishing grounds will tend to contain smaller fish, but are excellent practice grounds before moving on to larger lakes. Wherever you fish, you will find that bass love to play hide and seek. They are often found lurking near structures and obstacles in the water, such as boat docks. If these are not available, places where water and plants change, such as the transition between rocky pond bottom and sand, or the transition between types of pond weed, can be good places to look for bass. Time, practice, and luck will land you your perfect bass. Once you hook your first quality bass, you too will catch bass fever. Anyone in the world By Michael Russell In this article we're going to discuss some things you can do in order to have the best chance of surviving your college experience without losing your mind. Let's not kid ourselves. College can be tough. With the way most high schools are now spoon feeding kids and almost pushing them through, college can be a real wake up call. So how does a student survive the reality check that he gets when starting his college education? The first thing that a student can do to prepare for his college education is to plan ahead. Write to the college for a catalogue. Get a list of courses offered. Get a handbook. Go to the admissions office. Get as much information about the college you plan to attend so you can prepare yourself for what lies ahead. Check out any organizations the college has such as special clubs or support services. Knowing where to go based on what you need can save you a lot of time and anxiety. Before you enrol, go to the campus. Pay them a visit. Meet with your financial aid councillor. Go to admissions. Meet with anyone you can who can help you get situated in your new surroundings especially the department chair of the major you're planning. Make sure you give yourself a tour of the whole campus. It's good to know where everything is in advance. This way you're not looking for things last minute and driving yourself crazy trying to find them. When registration day comes, relax. These days are always long, boring and frustrating. These days are chaos for everyone involved, not just the students. Just know that there are others going through the same thing as you. Don't be afraid to meet and get to know other students. There are going to be a lot of strange faces. You're going to want to make friends because college can be a lonely experience if you try to go it alone. These kids are all in the same boat as you. Right there you already have something in common. In the first couple of weeks of classes take the time to meet with all your teachers. Let them know what you expect to get out of their classes. Show them that you are really serious about your education. If they see this that will make their relationship with you much stronger right from the start. Having a teacher in your corner puts you ahead of the game. When given an assignment, give yourself plenty of time to complete it. Don't leave things for the last minute. College work can pile up on you very fast. By starting assignments right away you give yourself the best chance of not getting buried in your work. Finally, allow yourself to be a human being. Nobody is expecting you to be superman. Many students try too hard to fit in by joining every social club they can. By taking on too much you're only going to wear yourself out. If you want to do something then do it. But don't do it just to be "one of the boys". By following the above tips you give yourself the best chance of getting through college in one piece and with all your marbles.

Anyone in the world By Lance Winslow Some marketing consultants who write books, make tapes, do seminars, get interviewed on the radio and tell other companies how to do it better, tell us that marketing is like exercise and you need to have a long-term plan and be patient. Well interesting advice indeed, but businesses do not have all day and Corporations want results now for their shareholders and bottom line. They do not have all year, a quarter or even a month or two to increase profits. They want it now, just like a small businessperson wants results for cash flow, salary and to pay for employees, inventory and rent for Gods Sake. Many marketing self-proclaimed gurus think you need to be patient; Let time work or Nothing Good Happens Overnight! I say to these marketing professionals, why not take off your silly Mickey Mouse tie, spray paint your baldhead blue and become a Smurf for while? The marketing Papa Smurf is Hear do Not Fear! campaign? Yah right, listen folks if you have a marketing plan you should be getting instant results and you should attack it like the United States Military. Do not sit around and wait for results, go out and get them now. Right now, not next year. Patience maybe a virtue, but we were told the Catholic Priests were virtuous too and we come to find out they were bending over little kids left and right? Sorry, when it comes to virtue you can take that Patience in Marketing Advice and stick it where the Sun wont shine. Here is the deal, your marketing should be getting the message out and the methods, media and mediums you use should be pulling for you every G-darn Day, day in and day out and if not modify your marketing plan. You must win the game and that means increases in sales and new business and more purchases from previous and regular customers. Any plan, which takes a wait and see approach is foolish, I will have none of that in my company and neither should you. Lets get the Political Correctness and wimps the hell out marketing along with the Catholic Church Priests who molest kids out of the perish. Consider this in 2006. Anyone in the world By Bill Flagg Reminder emails are an excellent way to garner additional registrations and keep people interested in your event. But did you realize they can also add greater value for your attendees? The Basics Most online registration systems have options for automated reminder emails at time frames that you determine. Use this capability to increase your attendance, develop more rapport, and increase referrals. Reminder emails keep your registrants interested and looking forward to your event. Getting More From Your Mail The super-charging trick is to give additional value in these emails a tasting of a topic that will be covered at the event, an article from one of the speakers, an industry whitepaper, or hard-hitting controversial questions facing the industry. You're not giving away the cow by passing out free samples of the milk. If people are reading about the topics you are presenting, they are going to be excited about your event. What to Do Maybe just before the golf tournament, you send a blurb from Tiger Woods on how to putt. For your technology conference, send out a short article from the Electronic Frontier Foundation about how the internet will change in the next 5 years. Give something that would add value and color to your registrants' lives anything that would cause them to feel like the event organizers have obviously done their homework and, therefore, the event is going to be super valuable, too. Anyone in the world By Joseph Hanoa If you are unhappy in your marriage and are fighting all the time, you might want to consider marriage counseling. If you or your spouse is out at the bar most of the time with friends, one spouse must ask what is happening. Marriage counseling is a form of therapy to help married couples work out their problems. Whether the problem is sex, communications, unfaithfulness or whatever, an attempt should be made to face the problem and try to work it out, especially if children are involved. Marriage counseling is also called couples therapy. The purpose of this kind of therapy is to help couples resolve their conflicts and relationship. Counseling helps the couples to talk to one another and define their problem. Many problems stem from lack of communication. If one spouse is off pouting in a room behind closed doors there isnt too much that the other spouse can do but to knock on the door and try to talk. The spouse may have no idea what the problem is because there is no communication. There is no way to talk if half of the couple remains silent. Without communication there is no way to resolve the problem. Marriage counseling is usually short-term therapy. People have a problem and the therapist helps them solve their problem. This may involve teaching them how to communicate or how to compromise. It may be helping them to resolve sexual problems. The purpose is to resolve the cause of stress is the relationship, whatever the cause may be. Marriage counseling can also help out in cases of domestic violence although this may be a little longer term. In the therapy session the counselor will try to help both parties identify the problem. Once they have identified the problem, then the counselor will try to help them to develop ways to cope with the problem. These sessions may have one or more parties yelling and shouting, or they may just sit there is stony silence, too angry to talk. The therapist will know how to deal with both of these situations and will show the couple how to deal with the situation when they are alone. Marriage counseling and family therapy are fields of therapy in their own right and many counselors will be certified in this area. Most licensed therapists will engage in marriage counseling; so do pastors, priests, social workers, etc. You want ask the therapist what his/her qualifications are.
